Winter Drumline

Being a part of an ensemble that competes in Winter Guard International (WGI) and Minnesota Percussion Association (MPA) events offers students a unique opportunity to learn, perform, and compete in this constantly evolving and challenging activity. While competition is a part of the process, personal growth for the participants is the ultimate goal. Each group offers a unique combination of education, life experience, and tradition, sure to leave a positive, life-long impression on your child. At EPHS students will have the opportunity to continue growth and development in: teamwork, communication skills, work ethic, accountability, leadership, musical development ensemble skills, technique, performance, and group first. The Eden Prairie Winter Drumline is a Scholastic Open line competing in both MPA and WGI. The Winter Drumline consists of battery percussion (snare drums, tenor drums, bass drums, and cymbals) and front ensemble percussion (marimba, vibraphone, glockenspiel, xylophone, drum set, synthesizer, and auxiliary percussion). The Winter Drumline season typically runs from mid-November to mid-April.

Marching Band Percussion

The fall Drumline and Front Ensemble make up the percussion section of the Eagle Marching Band. Both marching battery percussion (snare drum, tenor drum, bass drum, cymbals) as well as grounded front ensemble percussion (marimba, vibraphone, glockenspiel, synthesizer, drum set, and auxiliary percussion) contribute to the Eagle Band music and visual design. The Eagle Marching Band competes in local area shows as well as Bands of America Regionals and Grand Nationals. Percussionists in 8th-12th grade are encouraged to join! Auditions typically occur at the end of May and rehearsals typically begin in July and end in  October.
