Show: From the Ashes
Rooted in both Egyptian and Greek mythology, the legend of the phoenix tells of a radiant, eternal bird that rises from the ashes of its own destruction. In its prime, the phoenix soars with breathtaking beauty and power—but the cycle turns. Flames consume, the fire fades, and silence falls. Only shadows remain, with faint embers hinting at what is yet to come. Slowly, the music warms, building in intensity as the phoenix takes flight once more, wings blazing against the sky. From a single spark, the cycle begins anew—a living symbol of renewal, resilience, and hope.
The 2025 Marching Huskies show, "From the Ashes," is a musical journey through the life cycle of the Phoenix: majesty, death, hope, and rebirth. The show features “A World Without You” from the video game soundtrack of Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons (the majesty of the phoenix), Berceuse from Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite (the death of the phoenix), Hans Zimmer’s “A Time of Quiet Between The Storms” from Dune 2 (sparks of life anew - hope), and we return to the Firebird Suite for the “Finale” for the rebirth of the Phoenix.
